Event Chronicle – An Open House with The Websters Inside Aloha Palace

A few weeks ago, in this journal, we spoke about the essence of traditional Andalusian architecture and how that identity has evolved within Marbella’s real estate market –click here to read the article–. The question was simple: what happens when an architecture born from patios, galleries, proportion, shade and noble materials meets today’s international buyer?

For us, the answer is also really simple: Aloha Palace. Sometimes, it appears in a property that already has character, scale and a certain theatricality that is hard to replicate. That is the case of Aloha Palace, one of the great private estates in Nueva Andalucía.

Last Thursday, we opened the doors of this property for an afternoon built around that same idea: presenting a home from the place it belongs to. And for that reason, the concept was to blend into its Andalusian philosophy: catering inspired by Spanish and Andalusian gastronomy, flamenco music reinterpreted through the cello and a setting that made the most of what the villa already has naturally: presence, space and a very particular way of understanding luxury.

Practically all attendees filled in a feedback form with their opinion of Aloha Palace. First of all, we will say that the comments were very good and very positive, which is why we wanted to guide this article by explaining the house through its strongest points.

Nueva Andalucía has only been part of Marbella for a few decades. We very much doubt there are still people who do not know it, but if that happens to be your case, let us briefly introduce why this location is so special.

Today, this area is spoken of as one of the most sought-after enclaves in Marbella, but its origin is tied to a very specific moment: the transformation of Marbella into an international destination. During the sixties and seventies, with Puerto Banús as the great symbol of this new Mediterranean ambition, Nueva Andalucía began to take shape as a residential area designed for a broader, more private way of life, closely connected to leisure, golf and the climate.

It is no coincidence that today it is known as the Golf Valley. Aloha Golf, Las Brisas Golf and Los Naranjos Golf are just a few minutes away, while Puerto Banús, Centro Plaza and the coastline are close enough to form part of everyday life, but not so close as to interrupt the privacy.

INTERESTING FACT: We are also very close to Nueva Andalucía, so if you buy the house and at some point you happen to like us or enjoy seeing us around, we would be very nearby –and the best part is that we spend a lot of time in the office, so you would always be welcome for a good coffee –.

Aloha Palace fits precisely into that balance: close to everything, but large enough for its outdoor spaces to be designed in a way that makes the villa feel even more private. We are talking about an estate of almost 3,400 m² of plot, which, in addition to standing as one of the largest properties in this area, is also the kind of property where you could quite easily get lost inside.

So yes, you are close, but very far away.

A great part of the magic of the event happened outdoors.

The main terrace, open towards the pool, the gardens and the tennis court, became the natural meeting point of the afternoon. That is where we placed the catering and the live music. It was our first idea –and the only one– to focus all the attention there. Without doubt, one of our many favourite spots in this property.

Aloha Palace has more than 480 m² of terraces, an outdoor swimming pool, mature gardens, a private tennis court and a super welcoming porch, where you are greeted by an outdoor kitchen conceived for what we imagine as a quiet summer lunch facing the pool, or a barbecue with friends. And with the bar corner that this porch offers, we could also picture a fun evening of drinks with friends, or a night for yourself, enjoying a good wine, the calm of the pool and the peacefulness that surrounds the villa. There are spaces to socialise, corners to retreat to, shaded areas, room to move and a scale that feels more like a grand residence than a conventional villa.

Revelation! The outdoor pool is not the only pool at Aloha Palace.

The best-kept secret is found on the lower floor. As you go down, the house changes rhythm. A large heated indoor pool appears, surrounded by columns, with a jacuzzi and an almost cinematic atmosphere.

And this floor keeps several more secrets. If you think of an indoor pool, you may think of complete relaxation... and you would not be wrong, but we can improve that image for you. What would you think if we told you that this relaxation can be exaggeratedly improved?

When we picture ourselves in a workout session, for us, post-training is when we enjoy that moment of relaxation the most. And it is also when the body asks you for that care the most. Well, on the same floor where you find the indoor pool and jacuzzi, you also have a fully equipped gym room with an integrated sauna.

So we have already set the scene for you:

A long working day, when the mind needs to rest. You arrive home, put on some motivating music... –would we play a Rocky playlist, or is that too much of a cliché?–, you train and already feel better, you have released the stress of the day. And now, the moment you were really waiting for.

Ok, back to reality, We would do this flow: Gym --> Sauna --> A little time in the pool --> Jacuzzi --> And sauna again, to fully relax the body. (Although, if you ask us... we would repeat that circuit a couple of times. We are lovers of a good wellness space.)

And to finish, pyjamas. We have nothing more to add.

Everything on the same floor, which during the event became the moment to comment on every possible relaxation scenario after a good workout. And for those who do not train... it was a good moment to talk about the benefits of moving the body and finally ending with so much peace.

In addition, for car lovers, on this same floor there is also a large garage where you can keep your most treasured amulets.

If the outdoors speak of lifestyle and the wellness area speaks of comfort, the entrance speaks of essence.

High ceilings, wood, chandeliers, crafted marble, works of art on every wall and a sense of space that sets the tone from the very first moment. It is an entrance where, from the second you step inside, you can almost hear angelic chants around the room.

Several attendees described it as ''the beginning of an art gallery''. And it makes sense. The villa has that quality of the most stately Andalusian homes: ostentatious, but without exaggeration. A good collector –or an art lover and/or enthusiast– could spend hours in one of the many armchairs in the entrance, analysing each and every one of its paintings and sculptures –yes, there are also incredible sculptures–.

In a market where many new properties tend towards neutral lines, similar materials and an almost interchangeable international aesthetic, Aloha Palace offers something less common: character. It does not try to look like every other home. And precisely because of that, it is remembered.

The open house at Aloha Palace was, above all, a confirmation.

When a property has a real identity, it does not need too much explanation. You understand it by walking through it. You understand it by seeing how people occupy its terraces, how the music fits the architecture, how the afternoon light moves through the spaces and how each visitor finds a different detail to return to.

Aloha Palace is not just a large villa in Nueva Andalucía. It is a property that preserves a very clear reading of Andalusia and adapts it to a contemporary way of life: more comfortable, more international, more prepared for hosting, but without losing what makes it recognisable.

In Marbella, where luxury changes quickly and trends pass even faster, that permanence has value.
